Joey shines

Joey has had such a great season. He has made a lot of friends and I love this new confidence and independence.
Yesterday he swam free style for the Championships. He was so excited. He kept warming up. We had to tell him to stop so he didn't wear himself out. He also brought his own money and bought a swim cap because he thought that might help him go faster.

And just look who won his heat! He broke his own records. Joey swims 50 meters so he's usually a little slower on the way back, but not today! (Dave snapped the picture while the places were changing so he really did get first :)) He was in lane 5.

We're so proud of all the boys! Today is their banquet and then no more swimming until next year. Happy and sad about that. I think homework is definately going to be dominating our nights so the extra 2 hours a day will be needed.
