A New Day

The stomach flu hit our house hard but the good news is:
* Joey went to school
* Noah and Zach are eating again
* The house has been scrubbed
* The carpet is getting cleaned
* The daffodils are blooming
* Plans for Reflections are going GREAT!
Life is GOOD!

UCI Batboy

Joey had a day he'll never forget. He got to be the bat boy for UCI Anteaters. When we bought the tickets to the game I didn't know he'd be bat boy so I only got tickets for daddy and son. Thank goodness my hubby is slick with the camera. I LOVE some of these shots! He worked so hard and wore himself out. We had friends over for dinner when he got home and as they were leaving he excused himself and went to bed! Now that's a first!




And while the bigger boys were at the game I took the little boys and their friend to the movies. We saw Hotel for Dogs. I really liked it a lot. The kids loved it. When we got home our friends came over with their 3 little boys. They did it like us- 3 boys in 3 years. It brought back a lot of memories and we all loved having little ones at our house. Especially Noah. He just loves babies. It was so nice to rock little babies to sleep :)

Today

Today started out with a long to do list and a plan.

I headed to Noah's classroom to take some pictures of his class for the yearbook. I was supposed to do it yesterday but I had an idea to have the kids make these little letters and hold them up instead of a regular shot. I'm glad I did. I think this picture is much more fun.









I love that Noah is such a good student and so darn cute at school!

Anyway, I finished up and headed to the car to go to the gym before I met Karen and luckily I listened to my phone messages because poor Joey was in the nurses office. He had the stomach flu and was so sick. So I cancelled all my plans and took him home...and got him cozy in my bed...and fell asleep with him watching food tv. So much for that long to do list.

Poor thing. He has a fever and couldn't hold anything down. He's sleeping now so hopefully he sleeps well and wakes up rested. And hopefully I won't catch his bug. The practical side of me wants to stick him in his room and the mom side of me wants to snuggle him.

My DVR is all screwed up since the time change. I was so tired tonight after my day of taking care of everyone and was so excited to watch Grey's Anatomy and the silly thing only recorded 2 minutes of last weeks and 2 minutes of this weeks. What the heck??? I just found it online though so I'm going to go hop in bed with my laptop. Thank God for technology!!

Can't sleep

I have been so tired all weekend. Just exhausted. So I have tried to get some extra sleep. I went to bed at 11:30 but BING come 4 am I'm totally awake. I hate that. I know I'm going to be dragging again tomorrow. We went out for my mom's birthday last night and I don't think our food was very good. Joey and I both got a bit sick and my tummy is hurting right now. What a bummer.

Busy weekend! Lots of emotion. Our really good friends left today to move back East. We are all so sad. Each one of us. It's so hard to find a family where everyone gets along. We all are truely friends with each one of them. It's definately going to leave a void in our lives.

So the weekend had a great highlights-
Sleepovers at our house.
First birthday party for the sweetest little one year old ever!
Joey had a big win on his game-18-3.
My mom's birthday

Lowlights-
Incredible amounts of dishes from baking birthday cake for 80.
Sad little boys who miss their friends.
Sad adults who miss their friends.
A totally distraught Zach who's having trouble with an unkind friend.
Tummy trouble for me and Joey.
Not enough sleep.

I've got some pictures I have to download. I've been in a picture funk. I took a few with my regular camera but if it's not on my rebel I'm not that interested. Tomorrow is Joey's 5th game of the season and I haven't brought my camera once. I really am in a funk.

Baseball

My mind is a buzz....

I know I'm going to be hating life tomorrow...
It's almost 4am. I went to bed at midnight...but then I woke up at 3 because I heart little feet walking to the bathroom and BAM! I'm up... I can't go back to sleep. Does that ever happen to you? My mind just starts thinking...and thinking...and thinking. What am I thinking about? Fabric. Yes, fabric. Karen and I have been trying to find the perfect fabric for a little something we've got cooking up for Reflections and after a day of searching we found it. And I'm totally excited about that. It sounds so silly, but I'm just so happy about it! There are just so many details that go into making the event all that I want it to be! And it is so much fun to plan but not so good for my sleep habits.

In the midst of our fabric hunting we got to meet up with Stephanie. I just love Stephanie. It just made my day to spend some time with her. She is just full of enthusiasm and just plain goodness! And it is just so much fun to spend time with Karen. We seriously have the same taste in just about everything! I wish every day could be spent driving around, being surrounded by crafty supplies, having lunch with friends. Wouldn't that be much more fun than doing laundry, paying bills and cleaning the house?!? Maybe if I think about laundry I will fall back asleep for a bit.

Life moves on

The musical was just amazing. It was definately the best one yet! I can't even put into words how proud I am of the boys, especially Joey. He stole the show (at least in his mom's eyes). His teacher from last year ran over to me crying because she was so proud of him. He was just so comfortable and really shined out there!

And wouldn't you know it...the very next morning was OPENING DAY!

I love baseball season. I could be on the fields every day! But check out this picture. Joey looks like a total teenager and he's about a foot taller than the other players.
