I am enjoying a lazy morning. Friday was the last day of school for the boys for 3 weeks. YEAH! We have 3 weeks of no homework, hanging out, staying in bed until 8 or 9...LOVE it! This year round schedule is so great for us. As soon as the kids start getting a bit burned out we go on break and refresh. I love having extra time. I made homemade gazpacho with shrimp and I have lots of yummy new recipes to try out for dinner. This morning I am doing some erands and then we are headed to the beach. It doesn't get much better than that!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

What a game!!

Joey had his first baseball game of the season today. His coach is really great. He takes the game VERY seriously and has truely been teaching them so much. Yesterday his practice was supposed to be 2 1/2 hours and ended up being over 3 1/2. The kids were sooooo hot but watching them play today it all paid off. It's Joey's first season of Bronco and they don't have a limit on how many runs per inning. The first inning they went through their lineup twice and scored 13 runs! It was so exciting. Joey got a great hit and slid in home and made it in a split second. I was holding my breath!

The whole family was there to watch the game. Even Grandma and Goldie. Our friend, Amy, even brough her darling little boys to cheer him on. This year is the first year we've played with people we know so it made the game even more enjoyable. I made homemade baseball cookies and the kids gobbled them all up. Joey was so cute. I volunteered to be team mom even though I'm Noah and Zach's team mom (and room mom too). Joey got in the car and thanked me and gave me a hug. He sure knows the way to my heart. I ran right home and started baking. I'm so thankful that I can be there for all these moments in their life. It's such a priveledge to be their mom.

I love this sweaty shot of Joe. I don't know how he played in their black uniforms with all that catching gear on.

Smore Bar Recipe

I had a request for the s'more bar recipe. Here it is. Enjoy. I think they taste even better in the freezer :)

Full Days

The days seem more packed than ever! Between volunteering in the classrooms, grocery shopping, homework and sports I'm beat! I have been scheduling some fun in though. Today we kidnapped a friend and took her for a birthday hair makeover and a nice lunch. What fun! I love days like this.

Soccer is in full swing. Noah and Zach have practice twice a week and games twice a week. They are loving it and I just love to see them do things they love. Noah is super fast.

And Zach is determined to get a goal this season. Go Zach!!

Joey is doing fall ball. Of course! He loves it. He would be so happy to do it EVERY SINGLE DAY. But so far it's 3 days a week practice and games start on Sunday.

I only wish they didn't have so much darn homework every night. It's killing me. Forget them... it makes me grumpy. Everyone asking me questions all at once and spending two hours a night on it is driving me crazy. A math page and some reading sounds much better to me...and then a good soccer or baseball practice. They work so hard all day and the minute they get home I get them right back to work. Hate that!!

Zach had a book talk today on a fiction book. He picked Indiana Jones. He was so determined to read it even though it was a bit of a difficult read. In our house you have to read the book before you see the movie. Great motivator-Joey just finished Harry Potter. Anyway, he dressed up for his talk and I brought it Monkey Brains for a snack (coffee cake with crumbs making it look like a brain). He did such a good job. I stayed to listen. I'm so proud of him. And I know I've said it a million times but I LOVE his teacher!!! She is so wonderful.

the way to a kid's heart

Zach is really quiet and reserved in class. The last few years he hasn't really said to much. He just focuses on his work and works really hard. Who knew s'more bars would change his whole personality. I was volunteering the other day and his class was planning a good bye celebration for an older kid who helps in the class (they are starting high school on thursday). Zach jumps up and yells, "My mom will make s'more bars!" It just made my day. I'll be baking these non stop to see that smile on his face!!

Weekend Getaway

For my hubby's birthday I surprised with a weekend away. Well, the weekend was this weekend and we went here. I had no idea about it except that is sounded fabulous. As we were heading up to it this is what we saw. I knew I made a good choice!
I fell in love with the decor. I want my house to look like this. I LOVE this flower arrangement and

I REALLY LOVE this lamp.

We had a bungalo and this picture was taken on our patio. Who needs to fly to a vacation. We can just drive up the coast!

We had the best time. So VERY relaxing! Today we picked up the boys (I have the best mom ever), came home and watched movies. Then we went to BJ's (the boys fav) and ended the night playing Rock Band. I just enjoyed every minute of the day. I am so blessed. I just love all my cuties!

end of summer

Well, September means Fall, right? Although, it's almost 100 degrees outside so I'm having trouble changing my decor to pumpkins and apples and leaves. This year I really enjoyed every minute of summer- from our trip to New York, the beach, baseball games, bbqs, bon fires, swim team and just time to hang out.

I'm looking forward to Fall though. I'm ready for a sweater and watching practices.
